Berber Cushion Cover

These cushions are inspired by vintage Berber rugs from the Atlas mountains in Morocco. The surface of the cushion is stitched with crewel embroidery on a natural linen base cloth. This hand stitching technique follows the contour of the design and emphasises the shape of the motif in chain stitch, creating a raised textural quality. This cushion design is  reversible with the motif embroidered in negative on the reverse, allowing you to turn the cushion for a different pattern effect. Our crewel embroidered designs are made by skilled artisans in Kashmir, North India, an area renowned for this intricate hand craft.

Designs are made with natural materials and are handcrafted one at a time. There may be natural variations in undyed base fabrics that are not considered product flaws, there may be slight colour variations from dye batch to dye batch. These qualities make your design truly one-of-a-kind.
