Circus Mug - Blue

Working out of her Norwich based studio, Paige Mitchell creates designs she uses in her daily life. Her ideas are developed through gardening, sketchbook drawing, and both wheel thrown and hand-built ceramics.

This stoneware mug is hand thrown on the wheel with a handle attach by hand. Fired once to 1000 degrees celsius, it's then stamped, waxed, and dipped into a glossy transparent glaze. A harlequin pattern is painted by hand on top of the glaze using cobalt oxide. Once dry the piece is ready for its final 1230 degree firing.

As each piece of  ceramic is hand-thrown, size and shape may vary slightly. This is part of the charm of the products and celebrates the hand-crafted nature of each piece.

WASHCARE

Stoneware is dishwasher resistant and can be cleaned in the dishwasher. However, we recommend hand-washing as much as possible to avoid scratches from the dishwasher and to keep the ceramics in their best condition.
