Inigo

With a focus on selling properties rich in history and architectural distinction, Inigo is the sister estate agency from the team behind The Modern House. They cover urban and rural locations across the country, with the hope of helping their clients unlock the true value of British period property.

Named after Inigo Jones, the architect that brought Roman architecture to England in the 17th Century, Inigo are inspired by Jones' legacy within the world of early modern English architecture. Through his multifaceted approach to learning and courageous ability to blend old and new to make timeless and unexpected buildings, Jones created impressive monumental buildings that have left a lasting impression on those at Inigo

Whilst The Modern House champions a more paired-back and minimal approach to interiors and contemporary architecture, Inigo embraces colour and pattern, and the intricacies of period design. The estate agency's creative approach to the business brings their listings to life; tasteful, complimentary photography tells their stories and allows the buyer to truly understand why these properties have stood the test of time.

Almanac, Inigo's weekly online publication, allows the reader to delve into the backstories of their period properties with in-depth, beautifully illustrated content. They also provide the reader with a plethora of other interesting reads, such as recommendations offering their top picks of places to stay and leisurely activities to do in desirable locations, and interviews with contemporary artists and designers in their own interiors.

A personal favourite of mine. Having always lived in period properties but with an eye on contemporary design, I find a lot of inspiration on this site that successfully straddles period features with contemporary living.
