Pip Hartle is a British maker of hand thrown stoneware. She is based in London and works from her studio at the bottom of her garden. Her work is heavily influenced by textiles and landscapes from around the world. Originally studying Geography at Sheffield and then Textiles at Goldsmiths, she now combines her love of both in her ceramics. Each piece is unique, designed with function and the everyday at its heart.
"I enjoy all aspects of working with clay, from the physicality of preparing it, the rhythm of throwing on the wheel, decoration and the magic of transforming never diminishes." Pip Hartle.
We are delighted to have commissioned a collection of ceramics from Pip that include tea cups, mugs, creamers, sugar bowls and candlesticks in a mixture of her painterly patterns and indigo and black palette. Available in store and on-line. Supporting crafts and makers is at the heart of what we do and this project demonstrates the beauty and unique quality of handcrafted ceramics.
